Vacation Bible School (Aug 11 - 14, 2008)

Imagine…
…a child hearing about God’s love for the first time.
…kids worshipping in powerful ways.
…children praying for each other.
…adults and teens modeling Jesus’ love to children.
…the kids in our church sharing Christ with children around the world.
…children serving each other.

This summer, let’s transform our church into a bubbling science lab. Be a part of the vacation Bible school at New Life during Aug. 11-14. It’s our goal to reach 100 kids with this program! That’s 100 kids who will grow in their relationship with God.
We’re praying this awesome VBS program will touch children’s hearts and lives with God’s love. Help kids in our community discover that:
Jesus gives us the power

to be thankful,
to help others,
to be brave,
to live forever, and
to tell others about God.

As we plan and prepare for Power Lab, our team would cherish your prayers. Pray that God would give us wisdom in planning. Pray for the right staff members to join our team. And pray that God would begin working in the hearts of the children who will come to Power Lab!

Weekly Ministry Opportunities (Starting again in the Fall)

A.W.A.NA. Sparks program---for boys and girls in grades K-2
The gospel message is clearly communicated, and children receive a solid foundation of the Bible through Scripture memory work. Friendship and teamwork are encouraged through game time in the gym. And leaders build mentoring relationships during handbook and council times. Awards and uniforms keep kids motivated.

A.W.A.N.A. T&T program---for girls in grades 3-6
Girls grow deeper in the Word and in their ability to understand and defend why they believe what they do. Memory work, games, and awards are just the tools to build friendships and mentoring relationships. Council time is used to teach these young girls how to use their Bibles and where to find answers to life’s every day questions.

Boys CLUB (Christ Loves Us Boys)---for boys in grades 3-6
Boys are trained to be both godly and manly young men as biblical teaching is integrated with hands-on skills. Each month will focus on one skill, one character trait, and one central Bible theme. All projects and memory work will be completed during club time. Fun, games, tools, and multi-sensory learning keep boys engaged and promote mastery learning. CLUB t-shirts will promote unity and friendship.

Cubbies---for pre-school boys and girls who will be 3 or 4 by September 1. This program is currently offered only for children of our volunteers. Children will learn Bible memory verses, play games, sing songs, and do crafts.

*Nursery services are offered for volunteers’ children under the age of 3

** The above groups meet Wednesday nights 6:30-8:00pm at the Harbor Church next door.

Sunday School--- Starting again in the Fall. *** Childrens Church is going on through the summer during the regular church service.

Sunday mornings at 10:30-11:30
Pre-school/K---age 3-kindergarten
Early Elementary---grades 1-3
Juniors---grades 4-5

Nursery is provided for our worship service for infants through age 3 and our Sunday school hour for infants through age 2. Your babies and toddlers will be loved and cared for while you relax.

***Note: All of our children’s ministry workers have been screened and trained. We follow strict guidelines for the safety of your children.
