Where did you grow up? I grew up and went to school in southwestern Minnesota on a farm near Jackson. The farm is only a couple miles from the MN / IA border. Mom and Dad still live in the house where I grew up.

What is your favorite hobby? I have things I like to do, like read, go boating / fishing, or going for a walk along the river, but nothing I would really call a hobby. Thirty years ago I had a small airplane and loved to go flying. Someday I want to learn to sail, or maybe even live on a boat.

What are you passionate about? My wife!

What is your favorite bible verse? “Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts . . . So you are no longer a slave, but a son: and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.” Galatians 4:6-7

Tell me about your best church memory. I love to listen to Kim or one of the kids sing or play the piano.

Tell me about your family. Kim and I have been blessed to raise four children, three sons and one daughter.

- Will is 31, is married to Chequina, and they have a daughter named Emma. They currently live in Massachusetts, but are in the process of moving to Monterrey, Mexico, as part of Will’s work.

- Becky is 30, is a chemistry professor at Wheaton College, and lives in the Chicago area

- Jake is 21, is a student at Wheaton College, and lives with Becky

- Joe is 16, is a sophomore at Hastings High School, and is enjoying having more room to himself at home
