Advent Devotional - Dec 13 - 2 Kings 25:1-26

Read 2 Kings 25:1-26

Contemplate: Now the southern Kingdom of Judah is under siege. Because of persistent rebellion against God, the city of Jerusalem falls to the Babylonians in 586 BC. The temple that Solomon built is destroyed, the temple treasury is looted, and the city is ransacked. The people of Judah are sent off into exile in Babylon.

Pray: Take some time to lament the shocking reality of the destruction of God’s people due to their rebellion. Turning your back on God results in serious consequences. Spend some time today thinking and praying about the harsh reality of sin and its destructive results.
